Who has used the Mindworks Approach?
The
Mindworks Approach has been used by public and private sector
organisations, community groups and individuals in a wide range of
different ways.
For example we have worked with teams and individuals to help them:
- develop plans for, and implement, new organisations including executive agencies in Tanzania and ideas for new businesses in Ireland and Scotland;
- develop new approaches to innovation within their organisations, in one case working with a major consultancy company to design and deliver a training programme on innovation for the top managers of a multi-national engineering company;
- plan and deliver projects; and
- work out how to make the best use of information technology.
Tanzania - Case Study
The
Tanzanian Civil Service faces enormous challenges in providing
effective services to the citizens of Tanzania. In 1996 the
Tanzanian
government initiated a programme to develop Executive Agencies which
would assume responsibility for a range of operational functions which
were formerly carried out by government departments. The aim of the
programme is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of
the
delivery of the services by improving accountability and introducing
up-to-date management systems. Mindworks were commissioned by the Executive Agencies Team to train and accredit its members as coaches so that they could run Mindworks Box workshops for teams from the candidate agencies. These workshops, together with follow-up support from Agency team members, provided the foundations for the detailed planning and transformation work required to achieve agency status.
Our work with executive agencies created during this programme has continued to the present day and we are very proud to have played an important part in this project.
